With the weather heating up, school holidays and Christmas on our doorstep you might be asking what on earth can we do in Perth in December/January. Well here is a list of my top things to do in Perth.
Check out the Christmas Lights Tour
This year the city will shine brighter with 27 mesmerising Christmas light installations and vibrant Christmas decorations lighting up the evenings. Select from three mapped out journeys throughout the Perth CBD, Northbridge and East Perth or go your own way as you marvel at the stunning animated lights, festive street decorations, lively projections and festivities that brighten malls, streets and parks across the city.
Catch a Sunset at Cottesloe Beach
Cottesloe is a beach-side suburb about a 15-minute drive from the Perth CBD and is one of the best places to watch the sunset over the Indian Ocean. While you are there pop into Il Lido Italian Canteen for a delicious Aperitivo, or do what the locals do and grab yourself some fish and chips to enjoy on the beach while watching the sunset.
Summer Of Cricket
Here in the west, we love our sport, and the summer of cricket is no different! Get yourself down to Optus Stadium or the WACA and get in on all the action. There are heaps of great activities for the whole family! Keep an eye on the website for upcoming games.
Rooftop movies
With the weather heating up, we cannot think of anything better to do than enjoy a rooftop movie with a huge line-up consisting of both old favourites and exciting new releases, there is something for everyone. Grab a drink from the Rooftop bar, sit back on the bean bags and enjoy those warm summer nights and panoramic city views.
Twilight Hawkers Market
Every Friday until the 28th of Feb, the Twilight Hawkers Markets are back. Located a Forest Place, from 4.30pm pop down and see all the vibrancy of the food stalls and enjoy some local and global cuisine.
Enjoy a microbrewery tour
Perth’s beer scene is ever-changing with so many great microbreweries and breweries popping up all over the city you would be silly not to get yourself along to enjoy a quiet bevvy or two. The tasting paddles at most breweries make it a great way to enjoy all the brewery has to offer.
Road Trip!
With plenty of amazing places here in WA, why not get a group of friends together and jump in the car, heading up north you can see the pinnacles, or driving down south or “Douth” as the kids call it these days, there’s gorgeous beaches, wineries and plenty of activities to do for the kids.
With so much to do and see in Perth this summer, the problem you will have will be finding time to fit it all in!
